Logistics Coordinator

Primary Job Duties:

• Back up to Logistics Supervisor as needed.

• Assists with inventory management.

• Assists with receiving duties as needed.

• Ability to become Deacom proficient.

• Schedules shipments using various carriers.

• Communicates with various departments regarding shipping matters.

• Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned and damaged product.

• Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.

• Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.

• Prints all daily shipping and warehouse documents including bills of lading, pick lists and shipping labels.

• Files and follows up all freight claims as needed.

• Assist in warehouse pulling orders as needed.

• Assists with loading trucks as needed.

• Performs other clerical duties.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills.

• Thorough understanding of warehouse and shipping policies and procedures.

• Thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company policies.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.

• Efficient time management skills.

• Ability to follow proper safety protocols.

Education and Experience: 

• At least five years of related experience required; supervisory experience strongly preferred.

• Forklift experience required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements: 

• Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
